Case Study: Hambleside Danelaw

Hambleside Danelaw is an award winning and industry recognised building products manufacturer. They specialise in the manufacture of Roofing Systems, Rooflights and Ventilation. Their products are sold into a varied end user base including; Local Authorities, Housing Associations, Builders Merchants and Contractors.
Due to internal restructure and dynamic growth plans, the Board of Directors gave approval and budget for the appointment of a Sales Director for their building products division.
Midas Selections’ initial meeting with the Group MD of Hambleside Danelaw focussed on the complexities faced when recruiting for a Director level position. Midas Selection took a detailed brief, taking time to understand all aspects of the business including key business goals, key deliverables, business strategy, market intelligence and cultural fit. Midas Selection were assigned as the retained recruitment partner and recognised for their experience within executive recruitment as well as having a specialist consultant with knowledge of the Roofing & Building Product industry.
Our Process;

  • Midas used its extensive history of contacts within the Roofing & Construction industry to both Headhunt and network through the most successful professionals in the whole industry.

  • As a backup, Midas also absorbed the cost of extensive advertising across the UK.

  • After a detailed screening and interviewing process by the construction team within Midas, a final shortlist of 5 industry candidates were presented to Hambleside within two weeks of the initial meeting.

  • The Sales Director candidates were fully briefed about the business and the key deliverables of the role.

  • The results - All 5 candidates were selected to attend 1st interview with Hamblesides board of Directors. 2 Candidates were selected as clear favourites and asked to attend second interview. After a very demanding final interview, and difficult choice for the board, one candidate was selected and offered the position which was accepted. Midas then handled the resignation process and a start date was agreed no more than 5 weeks after the initial meeting between Midas and Hambleside Danelaw Ltd.
