How is Brexit affecting the UK employment market?

Some interesting findings from CV Library…

Since the EU Referendum vote in 2016, a recent survey conducted by CV-Library has found that the number of European professionals looking for work in the UK has actually risen.

Germany, with the strongest economy in the EU, has quadrupled job seeker traffic to the UK since 2016, rising by 389% in January 2019, whilst France, the EU’s third largest economy after the UK, has seen workers wanting employment in the UK rise to 26.9%.

Italy also saw a large increase in job seeker traffic to the UK rising by 36.5%, whilst the EU’s 5th largest economy, Spain, saw a 30% increase in the amount of professionals looking to work in the UK last month.

What about other countries in the EU?

Interestingly countries with smaller economies such as Portugal (down 23.4%), Greece (down 19%), the Netherlands (down 17.9%), Slovakia (down 17.7%), Romania (down 13.8%), Belgium (down 12.6%) and Lativia (down 2.15). Statistics compare EU traffic to the CV Library site in January 2019 and January 2016.
