New research has found that the UK's employment growth over the last 12 months has been with people over the age of 50.
In the year to July, of the 369,00 extra workers, 82 percent were found to be over the age of 50.
The survey also found that, from 369,000 extra workers, 244,000 were aged between 50 and 64, and 59,000 were aged over 65. The employment rate found that those aged between 50 and 64, was at its highest since records began. The survey also found that there are more than 5 million women aged over 50 in the UK workforce, an increase of 1.4 million in 10 years.
The data was compiled by the Office of National Statistics.
