After your interview, you may want to show your interest in securing the position.
What are good questions to ask at the end of an interview? It is essential that you leave the interviewer with a good impression of yourself and demonstrate that you are eager, and that you’re a good cultural fit with the company.
Here is a list of good questions to ask – remember, this is your chance to leave a lasting impression.
1) What makes working for this company special? Here you are letting the employer know that you are keen on the position and want to fit in with the team.
2) Where do you see the company in the next year, 5 years and 10 years? This demonstrates that you are interested in the future of the company, and you are eager to develop a long term career with the employer.
3) How does the role fit in with the company? Here you are demonstrating how the position fits into the company’s success, and the importance of how you will help the company succeed.
4) How would a typical day be structured? By talking about the work day, you will see if you would like to work for the company. Some companies “micro-manage” – if you aren’t comfortable with being “micro-managed” you will not fit in with the company’s working patterns.
5) What would you expect of me in the first 3 months? Often, interviewers ask what you would hope to achieve in the first 30, 60 and 90 days. This is a good opportunity for you to ask about your KPIs and what would be expected of you.
6) What makes people stay at the company? Find out why people stay (or leave). This will ensure the role is right for you.
7) What are the day to day responsibilities of the job? This is an important question as you will be finding out what the role entails. Will you be part of a large department or a smaller team?
8) What does the ideal candidate for the role look like? This is an opportunity to see if you fit in, and your skill set is aligned with the position.
9) What makes YOU proud to work here? This is a good opportunity to find out more about the interviewer and how passionate they are about the company.
10) Would you like me to expand on anything else? This is your final chance to “sell yourself” – your opportunity to clarify any points.
