According to a survey conducted by the BBC, 40% of adults would fake being sick if they needed a day off from work.
The research also found that two-thirds of adults would not tell their boss if they knew a work colleague was pretending to be sick in order to get a day off.
According to the Office of National Statistics, the average employee takes four days a year off sick. The BBC survey also quizzed people on other work-related issues.
The survey found that almost a third of respondents had stolen work supplies such as staplers and notebooks.
