In a new survey carried out by the Office of National Statistics, nearly 1.5 million jobs are at risk of being replaced by robots.
The survey found that women, young people and part-timers will be the most affected, with professions such as waiter, shelf fillers and those in sales occupations most at risk.
The Office of National Statistics analysed 20 million people from 2011 and 2017 and discovered that that 7.4% of jobs in England are at risk of automation. Whilst those aged between 35 and 39 were at low risk, the report found that 16% of 20 and 24 year olds will be affected. Areas of the highest risk include were parts of Staffordshire, Rutland and Lincolnshire.
