Many businesses in the UK are still seeking to grow and increase their workforce despite many companies being pessimistic about the long-term UK economy.
Some 48% of UK employers who hire permanent staff have raised concerns over the availability of candidates for permanent jobs, with anticipated shortages of health and social care workers being the greatest cause of anxiety. Acute shortages are also anticipated in the engineering & technical areas, as well as in the hospitality industry. Information was collated by the REC (Recruitment & Employment Confederation).
