Business Development Manager – Scotland
Basic £55,000 to £60,000 depending on experience, plus £7k car allowance and superb pension (up to 17%) and benefits. No commission.
Full-time | 37 hours per week (Monday–Friday)
Occasional evening and weekend work required
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a well-established organisation operating across Scotland. This role plays a key part in driving growth, winning new work, and developing long-term client and partner relationships within a framework-led environment.
The Role
As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying, pursuing and converting new project opportunities while supporting the ongoing growth and success of established frameworks across Scotland. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, you will help shape and deliver the organisation’s growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities
• Proactively identify, pursue and convert new business and project opportunities
• Build strong, long-term relationships with local and national clients
• Work collaboratively with framework partners to secure projects and repeat business
• Develop and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities, supported by market and client intelligence
• Act as Client Account Manager for key accounts, coordinating client-facing activities
• Support the development and delivery of the wider business growth strategy
• Maintain accurate reporting through CRM and data systems such as PowerBI
• Represent the organisation at conferences, networking events, seminars and industry forums
• Provide insight on emerging opportunities, client challenges and market trends
• Ensure all activities align with brand, quality and performance standards
About You
• Proven experience in a Business Development or commercial role
• Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working within frameworks, public sector or partnership-led environments (desirable)
• Commercially astute with the ability to develop credible pipelines and convert opportunities
• Confident using CRM systems and performance data to inform decision-making
• Collaborative, proactive and client-focused in your approach
