Lying on your CV – A recent survey of graduates
Lying on your CV is not advisable; providing false information on a job application is considered fraud, and, if, your employer finds out, it could result in immediate dismissal.
The type of lies often found on a CV include lying about a degree, or qualification, lying about why you left a business, past salaries and also lying about your responsibilities.
A recent survey by a UK Higher Education Degree Datacheck (HEDD), a third of graduates/job seekers falsify their CV; of the third who falsify their CV, 45% exaggerate their qualifications. Believe it or not, 11% make up that they have a degree.
Before you leave, why not register your CV, and be alerted as soon as a new vacancy is posted. You can register your CV here.
